How it works
Six taps at the put-in, and one at the take-out
EddyIn does not ask your club to change how it runs trips. It takes the routine you already have and puts it somewhere more than one person can see.
Before the trip
Sign the group on
Most of this happens at home the night before, or in the car park before you get on the water.

Create the trip
Date, start time, and who is leading. Add put-in and take-out if you want them, or leave them out.

Choose the river and section
Type it the way your club says it. No fixed list to fight with.

Select paddlers
Search your club roster and tap the people who are coming. Selected paddlers stay visible so you can see who you have.

Add guests
Anyone paddling with you who is not on the roster. Name, mobile and an emergency contact is enough.

Check the headcount
Count the group standing in front of you. Compare it to the number on screen.

Start the trip
EddyIn saves the trip, then saves an offline copy to the leader's phone and confirms both.
On the water
The trip is active
Once a trip starts, it is visible to your club and readable on the leader's phone whether or not there is signal.

Your club can see it
Authorised officers see the river, the leader, the start time and the headcount without ringing anybody.

Several trips can run at once
A beginners session and a gorge trip are two separate trips, each with their own leader and headcount.

The leader has an offline copy
Participants, phone numbers and emergency contacts for that trip, on the phone, with no reception needed.

Change what needs changing
Somebody turned up at the put-in, or somebody went home. Adjust the trip and the offline copy updates too.
After the trip
Confirm everyone is back
The part the sign-on book is worst at, and the part that actually matters.

Trip complete, everyone accounted for
A deliberate two-part confirmation, so it cannot happen by accident in a dry bag.

No signal is fine
Complete it at the take-out. EddyIn holds the completion and sends it the next time you open the app with a signal.

It moves to the archive
Searchable later by date, river, leader or paddler.

Nobody forgot to close a trip
If a trip is still open after twelve hours, EddyIn flags it. A safety officer can close it if the leader did not.
Worth being clear about
What EddyIn does not do
It is a sign-on book and a record, not a safety net. Everything below is deliberate.
- It does not track paddlers. There is no GPS and no live location.
- It does not call for help. It holds the information you would need if you had to.
- It does not replace your club's safety procedures, risk assessments or training.
- It does not decide whether a trip should run. That is the leader's job.
